Information for owners of Canine's with Diabetes Mellitus

You should consider joining an email list or participate in a message board!
You will find several on the internet supporting diabetes in pets.
Find the forum that suits you best and JOIN one.

Canine Diabetes recommends joining the following two email lists.

Description of both lists:
Everything is open to discussion!
From diabetes in humans and pets,to diabetes related complications, herbs and supplements, plus other health issues like congestive heart failure, jokes, family events, etc.
Chatting about all aspects of our life is important.

These lists are about love and caring and coping and helping each other under all circumstances.

The members of the lists share what works for their pets based on their own experiences and we encourage each other in deciding what mix is right for their diabetic pet. No diet is set in stone and some pet's require more insulin then others. See how others cope on a daily basis!

We're here to share.  NEVER to accuse any pet parent of "doing it wrong".  There is no right and wrong, only what works best on an individual basis from our own experience.

Information on how to join them.

The first list is a majordomo list so pictures and attachments cannot be sent and it is a smaller group.

To join send a letter to majordomo@netwrx1.com
Please note it is the number one and not an L at the end of netwrx   Leave the subject line blank
Write  subscribe rainbowbridge in the body of the letter
Hit send and then when you receive a letter back return it and you will be auto added to the list.
If you have problems feel free to email one of the following people and they will be happy to add you to the list.

 Email Judy Dick
 Email Margo Hupe

The email list is hosted by George Kasica of

http://www.netwrx1.com

Thank you George for hosting this website and the email list!!

Second List
The following email list is a yahoo group
The members of this group will treat you  like family just like the other list. The biggest difference is that this list allows members to share pictures of their pets in emails and there are over four hundred members in this group.

 http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/diabetespet/

Check it out now by clicking on the above url!!!
This group generates a lot of emails and all do not pertain to diabetes so setup a folder in your email program titled Diabetes and then direct all emails to go to this folder so that your inbox does not become cluttered.

One of the main reasons to belong to both lists is that if one of the lists goes down due to a server reason you are on the other one for a backup.  This is especially important to newer members who still are not confident in what is happening in their pet's life.  Many owners belong to both lists but some prefer one over the other.  The Yahoo Group has more members but the key players are on both lists.
